Frequently Asked Questions
Have a question for our doctors? Our patients ask us interesting questions every day, and we figured it would be helpful to include answers to some of the most common ones right here on our website. If you happen to have a question that we haven’t answered here, be sure to just call us and ask! We’re always happy to take extra time to make sure you completely understand your dental care.
How often should I visit the dentist?
Dr. Austin Amos agrees with the American Dental Association on this one: patients of all ages should visit their dentist at least twice a year in order to keep their teeth healthy and avoid everyday dental problems such as tooth decay, and gum disease.
What will my first appointment be like?
Our new patients always get the VIP treatment! We’ll roll out the red carpet for you—as in a literal red carpet. We’re all about service here at Ridgepointe Dental. After that, you’ll be given a short tour of the office, and then you’ll get to meet your dentist. From there, they’ll examine your mouth and formulate your own customized treatment plan.
How can you fix my broken/decayed tooth?
If the damage or decay is very slight, then we can probably repair it using a tooth-colored filling. However, if your tooth needs more help than that, then we can completely rebuild it using a natural-looking ceramic dental crown.
I don’t like how my smile looks! Can you help?
We certainly can! We have an array of cosmetic treatments that are specially designed to improve the appearance of the smile in every way. If you’re looking to get rid of stains, chips, cracks, or gaps, we’ll have you completely covered. We can use them to give you everything from a minor touch-up to a full makeover.
Can I straighten my teeth without getting braces?
Yes! With the MTM clear aligner system, you can straighten your teeth in the most discreet and comfortable way possible. This treatment uses a series of custom-made clear plastic mouth trays to gently move the teeth, and they are practically invisible while being worn. Even better, they are easily removable, meaning you can go through your treatment without having to drastically change your diet or brushing habits.
Do you accept emergency patients?
When you have a dental emergency, you can always rely on our practice for help. Just give us a call and we’ll answer questions, give helpful tips, and even provide same-day urgent care if needed. Whether you’ve just had a tooth knocked out or damaged your dental work, be sure to give us a call to get the help you need.
Can I be seen on the same day for an emergency?
Yes! We reserve time in our schedule EVERY DAY to handle dental emergencies and same-day treatment.
Will you accept my dental insurance?
We gladly work with all insurance companies, and our insurance gurus will be more than happy to do complimentary benefits check for you when you come in for your appointment.
We ask for your understanding in that we don't work for an insurance company. Rather we work 100% for our patients. We feel that insurance can be a great benefit for many patients and want you to know we will do everything in our power to ensure you get every benefit allotted in your insurance contract. However, the treatment we recommend will always be based on your individual needs, not your insurance coverage
